Team Approach to Quality Patient Care
Valley Health offers behavioral health services throughout Northwest Virginia
and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Taking a collaborative approach,
we work with each patient to ensure a full understanding of their diagnosis,
treatment options and related issues. Our services include General Adult
Inpatient, Senior Adult Inpatient, Intake and assessment, and Outpatient services.
Our inpatient multidisciplinary team is made of psychiatrists, registered
nurses, social workers, licensed therapists and activity coordinators.
Available Services
Intake and assessment: Our intake services are directed by experienced psychiatric professionals
who quickly respond to crisis calls or questions. The team can provide
assessments for hospitalization or provide referral information.
General adult (18+) and Senior adult (55+) Inpatient Services: Our facility provides comprehensive, acute, short-term assessment and treatment
of psychiatric disorders with or without co-morbid identified substance abuse.
Each patient’s treatment is individualized to meet patient needs
and set appropriate expectations for treatment. Valley Health advocates
for the community approach to care by collaborating with mental health
and social services agencies, substance abuse programs, and other providers
to ensure a seamless continuation of care for the patient.

- Assessment & Treatment of Emotional Trauma

Outpatient Services:
Valley Behavioral Health at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital: Psychiatric assessment,
medication management, and individual therapy. Services are available
for adolescents 14 years through seniors.

Senior Outpatient Behavioral Health: Located in Winchester and Woodstock,
this program is open to individuals 55 and older with a mental health
diagnosis. The program offers an integrated psychiatric and medical approach
to mental health and wellness primarily through a group therapy modality,
but also includes individual and family therapy.
