Conferences & Symposiums

Providing the best possible care for our patients requires clinicians and health professionals who are well-trained in the latest clinical advances and trends. With that goal in mind, each year Valley Health provides numerous opportunities for medical professionals to learn about recent developments without having to leave the northern Shenandoah Valley. These educational events, featuring national experts as well as local clinical leaders, are open to Valley Health clinicians and those practicing at other healthcare organizations. Cardiovascular Conference

The Eugene and Betty Casey Cardiovascular Conference, held each year in April, provides physicians, nurses and technicians with concentrated, comprehensive information on the latest trends and techniques in the care of heart patients.

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Cardiovascular Conference has been cancelled. We look forward to hosting the next Cardiovascular Conference in 2021.

Chronic Disease Symposium

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately half of all adults have one or more chronic health conditions. Held in early November, this symposium provides physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses and dietitians with the most current information on the care and management of patients with chronic disease.

The Chronic Disease Symposium is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2020, at Lord Fairfax Community College Conference Center in Middletown, Virginia.

Neuroscience Symposium

The Neuroscience Symposium is normally held in March. Presented by the Valley Health Neuroscience Center, this symposium provides those attending the opportunity to learn about the latest developments on a range of neuroscience topics. Presenters include local and national experts in the neuroscience field.

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Neuroscience Symposium has been canceled. We look forward to hosting the next Neuroscience Symposium in 2021.

Oncology Symposium

Normally held in September each year, this full-day conference provides comprehensive and clinically relevant information to optimize cancer patient care and outcomes.

The Oncology Symposium is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2020, at the Lord Fairfax Community College Conference Center in Middletown, Virginia.

Pulmonary Symposium

This two-day conference held each year in November, covers a wide range of respiratory and cardiopulmonary topics through lectures and breakout labs. The symposium is a valuable educational opportunity for respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals.

The two day 2020 Pulmonary Symposium is scheduled for November 4-5, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Winchester. Click here to learn more and register to attend.

Rehabilitation Symposium

Physicians, nurses and other clinicians, receives updates on a range of rehabilitation topics. Occurring in October each year, this one day conference is presented by Valley Health Rehabilitation Services.

These conference and symposiums are presented in partnership with the Winchester Medical Center Foundation. They would not be possible with the Foundation’s ongoing support.

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Rehabilitation Symposium has been canceled. We look forward to hosting the next Rehabilitation Symposium in 2021.
