Physical Therapy

About

Physical therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals with medical problems that limit their ability to move and perform functional activities. We are movement experts who treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to the very oldest and focus on optimizing quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education.

Each individual is examined and a plan is developed, using treatment techniques that promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability so that patients will achieve long-term health benefits. Additionally, PTs provide recommendations to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

State licensure is required in each state in which a physical therapist practices.
