Whitney Maddox, LPC

About

Whitney is a Licensed Professional Counselor serving as the CATALIST (Community-based Assessment and Treatment for Adolescents and families to Launch Interventions for Substances and Trauma) Services and Support Coordinator (CSSC) with Valley Health Outpatient Behavioral Health | Winchester. She graduated with her Master’s of Counseling degree from West Virginia University and is a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. Whitney has worked in various direct care and management settings, including foster care, schools, and home-based programs. She joined Valley Health in March 2020 and has over 15 years of experience working with individuals of all ages providing individual, group and family therapy.

As the CSSC, Whitney is responsible for the day-to-day management of operations and care navigation for the CATALIST program for youth ages 12-18 and their caregivers. This program offers early intervention, treatment, recovery and support services for substance use, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Whitney is thrilled to use her extensive background of direct clinical care, community partnership, supervision and the management of community-based programs to expand adolescent services in our community. Her approach is eclectic and dynamic and includes evidenced based theory and creative techniques to motivate and empower individuals in their journey towards growth and healing. Whitney is also a Board Approved Supervisor providing clinical supervision to residents in counseling as they work towards licensure.
