Personal info: Born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, she took a detour to Louisiana to play Division I Golf at Tulane University. There she fell in love with New Orleans, and later her husband, Joe. After finishing up her medical education in Shreveport, she was ready to get back to the mountains and happily landed at her first choice residency, SVFP! After obtaining excellent training in full-spectrum family medicine, and getting colonoscopy training during residency, she decided there is no better place to practice full-spectrum care than right here in the Shenandoah Valley. She loves teaching evidence-based chronic disease management but is known best for doing a lot of procedures. She uses dermoscopy (another skill picked up in residency) to perform skin cancer screenings and does almost all biopsies and excisions herself. She is also the only faculty member currently doing colonoscopies and hopes to teach more residents! She also enjoys sports medicine and taking care of local athletes as well as trying to get to local high school events when possible. In her free time, she and Joe enjoy spending time with their pack of dogs, affectionately called their "fur children", as well as their "feather child", Andy the cockatiel. They enjoy local cuisine, spectating DC sports teams, kayaking and tubing in the Shenandoah River, and trivia nights at local breweries. You can also find her at one of the local farmer's markets most any weekend.
