Financial Assistance

Get Help Paying for Care

If you’re worried about paying for emergency or medically necessary services, Valley Health offers a Financial Assistance Program that may help.

Our Financial Counselors are here to guide you. They can:

  • Answer questions about your bill or coverage
  • Help you apply for financial assistance
  • Refer you to government programs or insurance options
  • Set up payment plans if you don’t qualify for assistance

We encourage you to contact a Financial Counselor as soon as possible - especially before scheduled services. Early support helps ensure you get the most coverage available and avoid unnecessary billing or collections.

If you are ready to pay a bill, please visit our online bill pay page.

Valley Health Financial Counselors can be reached toll-free at 888-472-0045

Do I qualify for financial assistance?

If you do not qualify for Medicaid or other government programs, you may still be eligible for help through Valley Health’s Financial Assistance Program. Eligibility is based on your household income and medical expenses.

For full details, please review our Financial Assistance Policy (FAP):

Discounts Based on Income

  • If your family income is 200% or less of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), you may qualify for a 100% discount.
  • If your income is between 200% and 300% of FPL, you may qualify for partial assistance on a sliding scale.
  • If your income is between 300% and 500% of FPL and your medical bills exceed 30% of your annual income, you may qualify for Catastrophic Financial Assistance.

If you qualify for partial or catastrophic assistance, your bill will not exceed the Amounts Generally Billed (AGB) to patients with insurance. You can review the current AGB rate and how discounts are calculated in the full Financial Assistance Policy (FAP) linked above.

Please remember - When you visit Valley Health, care will be provided regardless of inability to pay.

Asset Review

If you have significant assets, your award may be reduced. Details are available in the full FAP linked above.

Residency Requirements

You may apply for Financial Assistance if you are:

  • A U.S. citizen
  • A permanent resident
  • An individual who plans to remain in the U.S. permanently

You are not eligible if you are visiting the U.S. temporarily, including on a student or tourist visa. All applicants must complete the screening and application process for any local, state, or federal programs that could help cover the same care. This includes programs in your home state or country if applicable.
