Valley Health Holds Successful 2019 Employer Summit

Valley Health Holds Successful 2019 Employer Summit

Valley Health Employer Health was excited to host its 2019 Employer Summit on Friday, November 8th, at the Martinsburg Hilton Garden Inn. The 9th year of this event was the biggest hit yet, with nearly 250 individuals in attendance!

Participants were welcomed by Valley Health staff as they entered the ballroom and were treated to a delicious breakfast while having the opportunity to network with fellow attendees. There were also exhibits from local community and business partners, along with representatives ready to engage with those interested in learning more.

Following opening comments and an introduction from Chris Rucker, President of Valley Regional Enterprises and Vice President of Valley Health Ambulatory Services, the featured speaker took the floor to speak to this year’s summit theme of “Fostering a Culture of Well-Being.”

Featured speaker, Chris Swanson, is a career law enforcement officer who has built his life around creating environments for success and meeting challenges head-on. He has become an expert in human transformation, speaking and inspiring at events all over the country.

Swanson’s dynamic presentation led attendees to see that the basis of institutional well-being starts with the individual and provided insight as to how to create environments primed for achieving success. Well-being impacts job performance, institutional culture, work-life balance, and employee retention.

The highly energized summit concluded with door prize drawings and closing remarks from Jacob Meza, VHS Director of Valley Health Urgent Care.

A huge thanks to all who joined the event and to the behind-the-scenes committee who helped make it possible. Mark your calendars for next year’s 10th annual event! The team at Valley Health looks forward to seeing everyone then!
