Elias Ashame, MD, is an experienced Valley Health caregiver board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Critical Care. Dr. Ashame completed medical school at Gondar College of Medical Sciences in Ethiopia. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital. Dr. Ashame completed his Infectious Disease Fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University where he gained experience recognizing and treating infectious diseases.

He began his infectious disease career at Carolina Medical Center in North Carolina and then at Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC as an infectious disease consultant.

Dr. Ashame moved to Winchester in 2017 after completing an additional fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from St. Louis University Mercy Hospital.
