Our Program
Health Families NSV provides home visits to soon-to-be parents or those who just had a baby. Home visits can start as early as the 20th week of pregnancy. We want to support parents right from the start.
Families can remain in the program until their child is ready to go to preschool or enter kindergarten. All services are free and voluntary.
Healthy Families NSV is designed to help parents grow in confidence in their roles as their child’s first and most influential teacher. New parents can expect to learn about:
- Fun, educational and age-appropriate activities
- Ways to bond with their baby
- Child growth and development milestones
- Health and safety tips
- Positive parenting skills
- Breastfeeding support
- Local community resources
- Prenatal resources for pregnant women
- Accessing healthy food
- Parenting challenges
- Preparing for kindergarten
And so much more!
