Annual Dinner Program Celebrates Cancer Survivors

Valley Health and ACS Invite Survivors to Socialize, Learn, and Be Inspired

If you or a family member has survived cancer, Valley Health and the American Cancer Society want to treat you and a guest to dinner on October 23.

The annual Cancer Survivor Celebration will be held Monday, October 23, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.at Victory Church, 2870 Middle Road, in Winchester. The event has been held for more than 15 years and typically draws 250-300 guests.

Before dinner a panel of three physicians -- pulmonary specialist T. Glen Bouder, MD, medical oncologist Richard Ingram, MD, and thoracic surgeon Shalini Reddy, MD -- will provide an update on cancer diagnostic and treatment innovations now available at Valley Health. Local resident Tom Knowles, a two-time cancer survivor, will also talk about his journey. And no celebration would be complete without door prizes!

Reservations are required by October 16. To RSVP, call 540-667-6675 (press 0), or e-mail julie.jordanhowey@cancer.org. Be sure to note any special food needs or allergies.

The celebration is held in partnership with the Winchester Medical Center Foundation.
