Valley Health’s Nurse Residency Program (NRP) supports new nurse graduates as they transition into professional nurse practice. The curriculum is accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and focuses on four primary areas for success: (1) leadership; (2) patient outcomes; (3) continuing education; and (4) the professional nurse role.
The NRP is a formal, structured program offered over one full year to post-baccalaureate and associate degree nurses. With the support of the NRP, the graduate nurse will: 1. Care for complex patients within the hospital setting. 2. Develop effective decision-making skills related to clinical judgment and performance. 3. Strengthen commitment to nursing and develop individual career goals. 4. Incorporate research-based evidence linked to practice outcomes into care provision.
There is no separate application to the Nurse Residency program. You will automatically start the program once you accept an RN-1 position and meet the program requirements.
