Valley Health’s Winchester Medical Center (WMC) has been certified
by the Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. As such,
patients treated in the center have the best chance of stroke survival
and will experience state-of-the-art recovery services. In addition, our

Center in the northern Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia.
The National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) has designated The
Virginia Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at Winchester Medical Center as
a Level 4 Epilepsy Center. This is the highest level available to be awarded
to treatment centers. Our treatments include anti-seizure medications,
vagal nerve stimulation, responsive neuro-stimulation, epilepsy surgery,
and modified diet programs for all ages.
Our neurosurgeons and experienced staff provide advanced treatment for
patients suffering from numerous conditions, including blood clots, brain
tumors, brain abscesses, traumatic brain injuries, and cerebral aneurysms.
Our experienced treatment team can help from diagnosis to rehabilitation.
We offer treatments for patients suffering from Parkinson’s Disease
and Essential Tremor. In some cases, patients may be eligible to receive
Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. This procedure can often decrease and,
in some cases, alleviate tremors.
In collaboration with Mariecken Fowler, MD, Valley Health has introduced
ImPACT™ to local high schools. This program stands for Immediate
Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing. The program tracks student
athletes and monitors their return to play after impact.

Our highly trained neurologists specialize in the use of state-of-the-art
imaging technologies. We also utilize advanced diagnostic technologies
to offer a wide variety of testing services for neurological disorders.
