Warren Memorial Hospital Visitor Information

New Hospital Information

Masks required in all Valley Health Facilities

For the safety of our patients, visitors and staff, masks are required inside Valley Health facilities – even for those who are fully vaccinated. The lifting of community mask requirements by the CDC specifically excludes healthcare settings. Thank you for your understanding.

COVID-19 Visitation Exceptions

For the safety of our patients, staff and community at this time social visits remain restricted. We are allowing patients to choose if they wish to have a Care Partner who provides physical and emotional support.

System-Wide Hospital Care Partner Policies

The following changes go into effect on August 20, 2021:

  • COVID+ patients are allowed ONE(1) ADULT Care Partner who will remain the same throughout the patient's stay. The Care Partner must check in with a valid photo I.D.
  • COVID negative patients are allowed ONE ADULT (1) Care Partner per day. Care partners may switch-out after a 24-hour period. All Care Partners must check in with a valid photo I.D.
  • Care partners and patients must wear a mask (if clinically possible) whenever a member of the care team is in the room with them.
  • Community Clergy may visit a patient upon request and may be at the bedside in addition to the visiting Care Partner to allow spiritual support. Community Clergy must only visit the patient who made the request and may not proceed to additional patient rooms.

Visitation Exceptions Include:

  • END-OF-LIFE CARE – May have TWO (2) Care Partners. There are no visiting hour restrictions for EOL visits; time will be managed within reason by the clinical team.
  • TRANSITIONAL CARE – Critical Access Hospital Transitional Care patients (only), as residential care patients, will be allowed TWO (2) Care Partners per day.

Additional Guidance for Outpatient Areas:

  • OUTPATIENT PROCEDURAL/SURGICAL AREAS – Patients may have ONE (1) designated visitor wait in designated waiting areas as directed.
  • EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTONE (1) Visitor is permitted to provide support, transportation, care continuity, and receive education regarding the patient’s care. If volumes necessitate, local ED leadership may ask visitors to remain in their vehicle until the patient is roomed. COVID patient ED Care Partners will be dependent on the capability of each facility to manage.
  • Lynn Care Center - Long-Term Care Unit: Our ability to offer in person vitiation is based strictly on the prevalence of COVID-19 in the facility. To verify what visitation is available (in person, window visits or FaceTime), please call 540-636-0290.

Care Partners must wear a mask when entering and leaving the facility, in all public areas throughout the hospital and when a member of the healthcare team enters the patient's room. Care Partners must also adhere to hand hygiene and will receive a health screening each time they enter the hospital.
