Masks required in all Valley Health Facilities

For the safety of our patients, visitors and staff, masks are required inside Valley Health facilities – even for those who are fully vaccinated. The lifting of community mask requirements by the CDC specifically excludes healthcare settings. Thank you for your understanding.

Changes Due to COVID-19

Visitation Restricted

The following changes go into effect 8PM on September 23, 2021

For the safety of our patients, visitors, staff and the broader community, visitation is restricted. Only patients with Qualifying Disabilities and/or those receiving End of Life/Comfort Care may have visitors/Care Partners.

  • Patients With A Disability – A patient who is a person with a disability has the right to identify a “designated support person” (Care Partner) to accompany them during an admission. If care lasts longer than 24 hours, the patient may designate an additional support person.
  • End-Of-Life Care – An End of Life patient receiving comfort care may have TWO (2) Care Partners. There are no visiting hour restrictions for EOL visits; time will be managed within reason by the clinical team.

Visitation Exceptions:

  • Outpatient Procedural/Surgical Areas – Patients may have ONE (1) designated Care Partner wait in designated waiting areas as directed until the procedure is complete.
  • Emergency Department – ONE (1) Visitor is permitted to provide support, transportation, care continuity, and receive education regarding the patient’s care. If volumes necessitate, Emergency Department leadership may ask visitors to remain in their vehicle until the patient is roomed. COVID patient Care Partners will be dependent on the capability of Emergency Department to manage.

Care Partners must be 18 years of age or older, and must confine themselves to the unit or waiting room. Masks and photo ID are required for visitation. All Care Partners must comply with Valley Health’s masking, distancing and PPE requirements.
