Winchester Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Valley Health and the central hub for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Located in Winchester, Virginia, this 495-bed facility serves as a tertiary referral center for the northern Shenandoah Valley, eastern West Virginia, and western Maryland. WMC is the region’s only Level II Trauma Center and offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital is deeply committed to academic excellence, interprofessional collaboration, and innovation in patient care.

Shenandoah University Health Professions Simulation Center
Located on the Winchester Medical Center campus, the Shenandoah University Health Professions Simulation Center offers residents access to a state-of-the-art facility for simulation-based training. Through a unique partnership with Shenandoah University, residents participate in high-fidelity simulations, procedural skills labs, and interprofessional education alongside learners from pharmacy, nursing, and allied health programs. Simulation is integrated throughout the curriculum to support clinical reasoning, communication, and patient safety.
Shenandoah Oncology

Shenandoah Oncology is a comprehensive outpatient cancer center that provides residents with immersive training in hematology and oncology. The center is known for its multidisciplinary approach to cancer care and its active participation in clinical trials. Residents gain hands-on experience in managing complex oncologic and hematologic conditions in a high-volume, team-based setting.

Winchester Neurological Consultants

Winchester Neurological Consultants offers residents a focused outpatient neurology experience during their intern year. The practice provides care for a wide range of neurological disorders and emphasizes interprofessional collaboration. Residents also engage with the same neurologists during their inpatient neurology rotations at WMC in their senior years.
- Comprehensive care for epilepsy, migraines, MS, Parkinson’s, and more
- Services include neuro-diagnostics, device therapy, infusions, and injections

Valley Health Multispecialty Clinic – Endocrinology & Internal Medicine

This multispecialty clinic provides residents with outpatient endocrinology training during their second year. The clinic serves patients with a wide range of endocrine disorders and emphasizes a team-based approach to chronic disease management. The site is located approximately 30 minutes from Winchester, offering a valuable rural health perspective.
- Focus on diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, and complex endocrine disorders
