Health Fairs and other Community Wellness Initiatives

Valley Health organizes, sponsors, and participates in health and wellness events and initiatives across our service area which help individuals live healthier lives and build healthier communities.

Valley Health Community Wellness Festival

For over thirty years the Valley Health Community Wellness Festival has been an annual wellness check-up for our community, offering a wide range of health screenings, educational opportunities, fitness demonstrations and children's activities. Held in partnership with Shenandoah University and other community partners, the festival traditionally takes place each year in February at Apple Blossom Mall in Winchester, Virginia.

Camp Follow the Leader

Camp Follow the Leader is a special summer day camp for children ages 6-10 with disabilities and/or physical, sensory, emotional, social and/or developmental challenges. Camp staff includes Occupational, Physical, and Speech therapists, teachers, volunteers, and counselors trained to provide a supportive, engaging, and rewarding experience for all. 

SuperKids Asthma Initiative

The SuperKids Asthma Initiative Toolbox is a resource for children with asthma and their parents. The contents of the toolbox reinforce the education received from physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals. The toolboxes are provided to children being discharged from Winchester Medical Center.
