Wellspring brings together services to address the needs of the “whole” person experiencing cancer and other chronic diseases. The center, which opened in October 2006, can help patients and their families find resources they need. For people whose physical appearance and self-image are affected during treatment and recovery, Wellspring is a one-stop location for practical items. The center is also a place for anyone to find unique products, enjoy pampering salon services and shop for gifts.
Purchasing Wellspring salon services, including manicures, pedicures and facials, and retail products is a way to help cancer patients. Your purchases allow us to provide cancer patients with free salon services in support of their healing journey.
Services including wig fitting, haircuts, skincare and makeup tips are free to patients during treatments. Our licensed professionals, certified in Oncology Esthetics, are experienced and trained to work with those who need help with the changes they may experience during their treatments.
We offer free personally-fitted new wigs for patients who do not have insurance coverage to pay for a new wig, meet financial need criteria and have a doctor’s order. This program is funded by the Winchester Medical Center Foundation. We also have gently-used refurbished wigs available for patients free of charge.
Wellspring offers a care bag to all cancer patients, compliments of the Winchester Medical Center Foundation. The bag contains items to help patients with their journey through treatment. Patients should bring the coupon they receive from their doctor's office to Wellspring to pick up their complimentary care bag.
Wellspring has been designed to create a sense of peace and serenity. Those who need a few minutes of quiet can seek out the meditation space and an area to sit and relax with a cup of tea. Guests are invited to take advantage of Reiki therapy, guided meditations, herbal foot baths, aromatherapy products, educational classes provided by community experts, and more.
