The Endoscopy Center, based on the campus of Winchester Medical Center, is a modern and advanced system fully equipped to provide gastrointestinal endoscopy as well as minor medical/surgical procedures. This facility is fully equipped and designed for your privacy and comfort. Enter through the first floor of Medical Office Building 2 (MOB 2). Services offered at the Endoscopy Center include gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy, including:
We are also equipped to perform minor surgeries as well as minor medical procedures including:
- Manometry
- Thoracentesis
- Liver biopsy
- Paracentesis
These procedures typically last approximately one hour. For procedures that affect vision or mobility, patients will be asked to plan transportation. Patients undergoing any kind of GI endoscopy procedure should plan a stay of approximately three hours at the hospital due to sedation, with the exception of sigmoidoscopy procedures, which do not involve sedation and normally take about one hour. All patients undergoing a procedure involving sedation should arrange outside transportation.
