From Paramedic to RN: Amanda's Career Journey at Valley Health

At Valley Health, we believe in nurturing the growth and development of our employees. Amanda’s story is the perfect example of how dedication and support can lead to remarkable achievements. Amanda has been a Paramedic with Valley Medical Transport (VMT) for 12 years.

Recently, she successfully obtained her RN license and accepted a nursing position at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, beginning her new journey last week.

Craig Barrett, Senior Director of Mobile Integrated Healthcare at Valley Medical Transport, shared his thoughts on Amanda's achievement: "Amanda embodies the Valley Health values and mission with effortless grace. The connection she develops with her patients is remarkable and serves as an inspiration for all of us. At VMT, our leadership team is deeply committed to providing opportunities for career growth and development. Amanda's success is a testament to what can be achieved when dedication meets support."

Amanda's accomplishment is a testament to her hard work and the support she received from Valley Health including scheduling accommodations to ensure Amanda could balance her work and studies.

Amanda transitioned from paramedic to RN with help from Valley Health’s tuition reimbursement and a new sign-on bonus for internal hires.

“I was thrilled to stay with Valley Health and continue growing here,” she said. “The sign-on bonus was a welcome surprise and showed me that the organization values employees who want to advance.”

"We are incredibly proud of Amanda's accomplishment and look forward to seeing her continue to thrive in her new role at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital!" shared Craig Barrett.
