Trey Mathews, MD, is a general surgeon with interests in gallbladder disease, hernia repair, colon surgery, laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
Dr. Mathews received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Juniata College in Pennsylvania. He attended medical school at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (formerly The Commonwealth Medical College) before completing his residency at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in South Carolina.
Dr. Mathews was drawn to the northern Virginia area during his last year of medical school while his wife taught in Fauquier County. He and his family planned to return to the area after residency.
