About

Ken Nelson, MD, FACS, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma and limb salvage and reconstruction. An accomplished veteran, Dr. Nelson has extensive experience caring for our nation's military as an orthopedic surgeon. After his completion of the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, he went on to attend medical school through Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. He completed his orthopaedic surgery internship and residency in Washington, DC, through Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Georgetown University Hospital respectively. Specializing in trauma, Dr. Nelson completed his fellowship through Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Dr. Nelson is an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, a lifetime member of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. Committed to education and mentoring, Dr. Nelson has trained residents and students throughout his career.
