About

Katelyn Carpenter, MD, is a board-certified primary care provider specializing in Family Medicine. Dr. Carpenter completed medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She completed her residency with VCU's Shenandoah Valley Family Practice Residency Program in Front Royal, Virginia.

Dr. Carpenter previously served as a special agent to the U.S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service, where she traveled and worked with foreign dignitaries and U.S. Secretaries of State. Her training in field/combat medicine led Dr. Carpenter to pursue a career change.

Dr. Carpenter is passionate about preventative medicine, women's health, rural health, and outpatient procedures. She is also pursuing additional training in dermoscopy/skin surface microscopy and becoming an Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner.

In her free time, Dr. Carpenter enjoys traveling, gardening, and spoiling her chickens.
