About

Shafic Sraj, MD, MBA, CPE, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with additional certification in surgery of the hand. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the American University of Beirut followed by three fellowships in hand, upper extremity, and sports medicine and has been in practice since 2010.

Before joining Valley Health, Dr. Sraj was an associate professor at West Virginia University for almost a decade during which he trained generations of orthopedic surgeons. Dr Sraj's interests and experience focus on the conditions of the hand, and he has developed expertise in wide awake, in-office surgery, eliminating the need for many patients to go to the hospital operating room. He is nationally recognized and has given multiple instructional lectures and written several articles about in-office surgery. These earned him recognition as a top 1% clinical researcher in orthopedics in 2024 and 2025.

Dr. Sraj enjoys the interactions with patients, particularly during awake surgery, offering them the opportunity to be part of the team assessing the results instantly and determining the best care plan afterward.
