Lee Selznick, MD, MA, FAANS is a board-certified neurosurgeon. With over twenty years of experience, he has accumulated a broad skill set with expertise in traditional and minimally invasive techniques, including robotics for the spine and awake functional mapping for the brain. Dr. Selznick attended Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine for medical school, followed by an internship and neurological surgery residency at Duke University.
Dr. Selznick is deeply interested in advancing neurosurgical techniques for the management of degenerative and oncological problems in the brain and spine. He treats a broad range of neurosurgical problems with a focus on patients with degenerative spine disease, movement disorders, epilepsy, and brain tumors. His work reflects a strong connection to purpose—improving lives through cutting-edge neurosurgery and collaborative leadership.
In addition to having a busy clinical practice, he is also the Chair of the Department of Neurosciences and Medical Director of Neurosurgery, founder and co-director of the Virginia Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at Winchester Medical Center, past president of the Neurological Society of the Virginias, and State Representative to the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies (CSNS). He is married with four children and enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with friends and family.
