Labor & Delivery at Winchester Medical Center

PRE REGISTER FOR BIRTH

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Winchester Medical Center is grateful that you have chosen us to care for you during this very special time. The birth of your baby is one of the most exciting events in your life. Physicians, midwives and nursing staff work together to provide a comfortable and caring center for you and your new baby.

Winchester Medical Center Labor & Delivery is located on the second floor of the North Tower. We offer ten private birthing suites which enable you to labor, deliver and recover in your own spacious and comfortable room. In addition, each spacious suite includes its own bathroom with a shower that houses bench seating and a removable showerhead, dimming lights, a pull-down sofa that turns into a single bed for support people, television and Wi-Fi. We have a spacious waiting area for family and friends while they anticipate the arrival of your new baby located across from the North Tower visitor elevators.

Preparing for the Birth of Your Baby

We know you may have questions during this time about how to prepare for your baby’s birth or your upcoming hospital stay. To speak with someone on our staff about questions you may have, please call 540-536-3475 or email lhall7@valleyhealthlink.com.

Selecting a Pediatrician

Before your baby is born, we encourage you to select a pediatrician and call the office in advance to make sure the pediatrician is accepting new patients. You should also confirm that the office accepts your health insurance.

Arriving at the Hospital

The entrance to the Labor & Delivery unit is located in the North Tower. The North Tower entrances are currently closed with no entry access except for Labor & Delivery patients, who should use the buzzer at the end of the covered walkway connecting Garage 2 with the North Tower. Please note: If you are arriving after 10 p.m., you can still access Labor & Delivery from the North Tower entrance but there will be a wait for security to open the door. If you need quicker access, please go to the Emergency Department entrance, which is located to the right of the North Tower.
