How to Diagnose PAD

Leg test:

  1. ABI – Blood pressure is checked in your leg and compared to your arm
  2. Ultrasound- Ultrasound images are created to see the blood vessels
  3. CT - CT scan can see the blocked artery
  4. MRI - MRI scan can see the blocked artery
  5. Angiogram – Catheter (small tube) placed in blood vessel and x rays made of the artery using x ray dye

Arm test:

  1. WBI – blood pressure is compared between different parts of your arm
  2. Ultrasound - Ultrasound images are created to see the blood vessels
  3. CT – CT scan can see the blocked artery
  4. MRI – MRI scan can see the blocked artery
  5. Angiogram – Catheter (small tube) placed in blood vessel and x rays made of the artery using x ray dye

Stomach test:

  1. Ultrasound – Ultrasound images are created to see the blood vessel
  2. CT- CT scan can see the blocked artery
  3. MRI – MRI scan can see the blocked artery

Kidney test:
