Gallagher began his career with Coopers & Lybrand in Cincinnati, and has served in financial leadership at Health Corporation of Virginia, The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Scioto Valley Health Foundation in Portsmouth, Ohio, and Bon Secours Virginia. His experience includes work as president and CEO at a healthcare advisory firm.

Gallagher graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy, and earned a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
