Before You Request an Estimate

Your estimate reflects the details you provide, and the services planned at the time of your request. The final amount may change based on:

  • The accuracy of the information you submit
  • The care you receive during your visit
  • How your insurance processes the claim

We encourage you to review your insurance benefits in advance when possible.

What Happens After You Submit

Once you send your request, our team will review your information and prepare your estimate.

  • A Valley Health Estimates Coordinator will create your estimate
  • If you have insurance, we will confirm your current benefits, including your deductible and out-of-pocket costs for the plan year
  • If more details are needed, we will contact you using your preferred method
  • Most estimates are ready within one business day, though some requests may take longer

If you have questions please contact estimates@valleyhealthlink.com. For more on price transparency, click here.

What Your Estimate Includes:

Your estimate outlines expected costs so you can make informed decisions.

  • Total estimated charges: This amount reflects the full cost of the services before any insurance adjustments.
  • Allowed amount or negotiated rate: If you have insurance, this is the reduced rate agreed upon by Valley Health and your plan. This amount is often lower than standard charges. If you do not have insurance or your plan does not cover the service, a negotiated rate will not apply. Valley Health offers a 35 percent discount for patients without insurance.
  • Your estimated responsibility: This is the portion you are expected to pay. If you have insurance, this may include a co-pay, coinsurance, and any remaining deductible based on your plan. This amount will not exceed the negotiated rate for covered services.
  • Prepayment option: You may choose to pay in advance and receive a 10 percent reduction. The prepayment amount reflects your expected responsibility after this reduction. Prepayment is not required for most services, though it is needed to receive the discounted rate.
