Integrative care is designed to complement your medical treatment, offering additional resources to enhance your healthcare plan. It can help calm the senses and contribute to reduced stress, clearer minds, relieved sense of pain and restored energy.
Integrative care can contribute to many aspects of health including:
This ancient Japanese technique uses compassionate, light touch to provide a relaxing, safe, effective tool for stress reduction and pain management. Reiki practitioners have learned to sense the energy circulating around and through us, allowing them to guide restorative energy and awaken the body’s own innate healing abilities. Free, by appointment Tuesday – Thursday.
IEM addresses specific areas of energetic trauma or distress. The practitioner assesses the energy field and locates areas that may be related to unhealthy conditions or pain, and uses light touch and energetic intervention techniques to restore optimal energetic circulation to those areas, enhancing the body’s own healing power. Free, by appointment Tuesday – Thursday.
Meditation is a mind-body practice that uses concentration to relax the body and calm the mind, leading to a state of consciousness that brings serenity, clarity and a more positive outlook. The Meditation Room located on the upper level of the Valley Health Cancer Center provides a peaceful setting for quiet reflection and personal meditation. This room is free for use anytime, or schedule an in-person guided meditation with our program coordinator.
Local musicians provide live music in our Valley Health Cancer Center lobby to promote a peaceful, healing environment.
Utilizing the Eastern practices of Tai Chi and yoga, our instructor guides you through movements that help to stretch the limbs and oxygenate the body while in a sitting position, especially designed for people with limited mobility. Free, offered every first and third Wednesday in the Valley Health Cancer Center’s upstairs lobby. No registration necessary.
Classes on expressive art, origami, poetry, aromatherapy, nutrition, guided imagery and stress management and other educational workshops are offered at the Valley Health Cancer Center throughout the year. Check our online calendar listings.
