Honor celebrates 100 hospitals nationwide that provide accessible, affordable, high-quality care

has been recognized as one of the top 100 “Great Community Hospitals” for 2026, according to Becker’s Hospital Review. The award measures outcomes, patient satisfaction and specialty offerings.

According to a Wednesday press release from Becker’s, the hospitals on the list “prove that extraordinary care is not the exclusive domain of large academic medical centers or major metropolitan health systems.”
“Working within real-world resource constraints, these community hospitals deliver expert clinical care, drive local innovation and serve as economic cornerstones for the regions they call home,” the release states. “These hospitals demonstrate that accessible, affordable care close to home isn't just an operational goal, but a promise to their neighbors."
Warren Memorial Hospital is a 36-bed community hospital in Front Royal, Virginia, with more than 360 employees, 18 emergency department beds, a state-of-the-art catheterization lab and 27 specialties that include general surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery and cardiology. It is also home to the
Shenandoah Valley Family Practice Residency Program,
which has graduated more than 120 doctors since 1998, with more than half of these staying to provide healthcare in Virginia.
To enhance patient care and expand access to advanced treatment, the hospital has invested in a range of innovative technologies, including robotic surgery systems for orthopedic, gynecological and general surgery procedures. WMH also utilizes a platform called “Bedside Connect”, which enables specialty consultations at a patient’s bedside via high-definition cameras and virtual nursing support, and “MyChart Bedside,” which allows patients to communicate with caregivers, access test results, and manage daily needs from their room.
In recent years, Warren Memorial Hospital has received several national recognitions for exceptional care. In 2024 and 2025, the hospital was named to the list of “Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals” in the country by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. In addition, WMH has been an accredited chest pain center recognized by the American College of Cardiology since 2012, reflecting the ability of the hospital’s physicians to rapidly diagnose and treat cardiac emergencies.
