Valley Health’s Critical Access Hospitals Recognized as Best in the Country
Valley Health is proud to announce that all four of its Critical Access Hospitals have been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as “Critical Access Hospitals to Know.”
Hampshire, War, Page and Shenandoah Memorial hospitals made the list of 100 hospitals recognized nationwide by the healthcare media platform.
“The hospitals featured on this list are actively expanding access to specialty care, reducing the burden of patient travel, and driving meaningful improvements in the health of their communities,” according to a press release from Becker’s.
To help identify these institutions, Becker’s referenced rankings and recognitions from some of the most respected voices in rural health, including the National Rural Health Association and the Chartis Center for Rural Health.
Critical Access Hospitals are located in rural areas with an inpatient bed count of 25 or less.
Valley Health’s four critical access hospitals collectively treated 54,512 patients in their emergency departments, recorded 33,809 patient days and conducted 373,247 outpatient laboratory tests in 2025, with inpatient satisfaction in the 79th percentile, outpatient satisfaction in the 94th percentile and emergency department satisfaction in the 84th percentile nationwide.
