Valley Health Sponsored Helicopter Becomes New Discovery Museum Exhibit
On September 21, more than 200 community members gathered along Cork Street in downtown Winchester to witness the placement of a Valley Health sponsored Bell 430 helicopter atop the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum.
The helicopter is a symbol of the organization's partnership with the museum. The interactive exhibit will provide children with a safe place to have hands-on opportunities to learn about the role helicopters play in emergency medical transportation while inspiring curiosity about aviation, healthcare, and the lifesaving work of first responders.
We're honored to support an exhibit that will inspire children and families for years to come. Children need healthy opportunities to grow, learn and thrive. If this exhibit encourages even one child to dream a little bigger, it will have made a meaningful difference.
— Mark Nantz, President and CEO of Valley Health
The helicopter was carefully lifted into place by an H&W Construction crane with assistance from Shockey personnel, creating an exciting moment for families gathered to watch.
The exhibit is expected to open to museum guests October 23 and will serve as a reminder of Valley Health's commitment to the community and the Discovery Museum's ongoing commitment to hands-on learning experiences for children throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
