About
Medical / Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Dr. Thomas Keenan graduated in 1963 from Manhattan College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University. From there he completed an OB/GYN Internship/Residency at the University of Iowa. He then spent 3 years as a US Naval Flight Surgeon in Pensacola, Florida and at Andrews Air Force Base. He then returned to the University of Iowa where he went on to complete an Ophthalmology Residency with a specialization in Pediatric Ophthalmology. In 1975, he relocated to Winchester where he joined Dr. Reuling in his private practice in Winchester and has been in full-time practice here for the last 35+ years.
Despite being born in Brooklyn, New York, he has made the Winchester, Virginia area his home and has developed quite a side-hobby of horses. He married in 1966 and he and his wife have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Dr. Keenan is ever aware of the need to be current in his field, because of such he is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains a membership with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
