My name is Talia, and I am excited to be a resident at Valley Health! I am passionate about rural medicine and community health and hope to practice in a rural cancer center in Virginia in the future. I think Winchester is a beautiful town with lots of magnificent nature and some of the kindest people you will ever meet, which is what drew me in alongside the wide geographical distribution of patients served by Valley Health and the one-on-one learning opportunities we have here. As a program, our IM residency is focused on improving outcomes for patients by upholding physician wellbeing, and that is something that resonates deeply with me. I am motivated, dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking, and spend lots of time trying to be the best version of myself through exercise, reading, and mindfulness. When I am not studying or in the hospital, I’m taking care of my toddler son, running miles with my Siberian husky, Hazel, or trying new recipes with my husband, who I met in medical school.
