Shahzaib Chughtai completed medical school at Central Michigan University College of Medicine with an academic background in biology and biochemistry from the University of Michigan. After college, he worked as an EMT before starting medical school. He enjoys doing research as a way to grow his understanding and experience with certain topics in medicine. His philosophy of care is to listen to each patient’s story and understand perspectives. His interests center on internal medicine, with particular focus on evidence-based clinical care.
I am passionate about pursuing a career in internal medicine because it allows me to build long-term relationships with patients while addressing complex, multifactorial diseases. My academic interests stem from both my research experience and my desire to better understand chronic disease management and patient experiences. I was drawn to Valley Health because of its strong emphasis on community-based care.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy staying active through dance, as well as engaging in community service initiatives. My background in cultural organizations and mentorship has shaped my appreciation for diversity and inclusion in healthcare. I hope to bring a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to my work as both a clinician and advocate for my patients.
