FAQ

Can I work before passing my NCLEX

To begin employment at Valley Health, you will need to pass your NCLEX and have an active RN license.

When should I start applying if I graduate in the spring?

We recommend submitting an application 1-2 months before your graduation date. This ensures you have ample time to explore opportunities, move through the hiring process, and secure a position that aligns with your career goals.

Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes, you are welcome to apply for the positions you are most excited about. Candidates should know that all positions are competitive and may fill quickly.

Are there Part-Time or Per Diem opportunities for new graduate RNs?

Part-Time opportunities are rare but are sometimes available. Valley Health does not hire graduates into Per Diem roles.

How important is my resume?

Very important! The quality of your resume may be the determining factor in securing an interview for highly competitive roles. Your resume should be professional, succinct, and memorable. Be sure your resume tells the hiring manager who you are and why you would be a great fit for their unit.

Do all new graduates start on nightshift?

Nightshift opportunities are most common; however, some dayshift or mid-shift opportunities may be available. Moving from nightshift to dayshift is one way we recognize nursing seniority and reward organizational loyalty and is something most nurses can look forward to as they grow with Valley Health.
