Family Connections: The Tomeks

We like to think of Valley Health as one large family; nothing personifies that more than when family members work together in our health system. This week we highlight the Tomek family!

  • Youngest daughter Carmen Tomek also worked for Valley Health for several years

What do you like about working with your family? We can sometimes carpool and have lunch together. It is so nice when I get a call from another VHS employee who one of my family members has helped and they tell me they did a great job for them. Our family is a very close-knit group, and we like being able to work near each other as it allows an even more sense of closeness.

Why did you choose Valley Health? I started here in Nutrition Services, which is where I met my husband, Devin. I left Valley Health for a little over a year but have been back since 2006. I moved to Human Resources and now I’m in Physician Recruitment. I love the fact that there is always an area to advance to within the system and learn more about what VHS has to offer our patients and our community.
