“When I was pregnant with my first baby, I never thought I would
have a baby in the NICU. When my son was born prematurely, the doctors,
nurses and staff at the WMC NICU guided me through every step of my son’s
healing until he was eventually big enough and healthy enough to go home.
The private rooms, caring staff and amazing doctors got us through a very
overwhelming and emotional time. We are so thankful we chose Winchester
Medical Center as the place to meet our son!”
-Carrie and Jason, Parents of Baby H.
The Parent Advisory Council is a collaboration of parents whose babies
needed advanced care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and staff who
work together to maintain and enhance family centered care. The Parent
Advisory Council not only provides support but also offers educational
resources to parents. Meetings are held once a month to celebrate successes,
support the unit’s goals and offer suggestions towards family centered
care to better the experiences for other families who are going through
a difficult time.
The Council is always looking for more interested families! Joining the
council does require a time commitment but the rewards are endless. Help
other NICU families and staff by joining our team. For more information,
please email us at
firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications to join are also available in the NICU and can be provided
by your nurse.
