Last week,
in this blog post, we examined the affects that obesity has on other health conditions and
diseases. As studies have shown time and time again, bariatric surgery
has many benefits, including its potential ability to reduce the risk
of chronic kidney disease (CKD). In the study linked below, Bariatric
surgery’s influence on CKD was studied in over 2000 adults with
low, moderate and high risk of CKD. A high percentage of the patients
in the moderate baseline dropped to the low risk category over 7 years
and an even higher percentage of the high risk patients experienced an
improvement in their risk over 7 years!
