Originally born in Wisconsin, Dr. Bloom traveled extensively to complete
his educational training. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology
at the University of Wisconsin under academic scholarship. His dental
training was conducted at the University of Southern California in Los
Angeles, where he was awarded Dean’s List Honors and was the first
student to complete his clinical requirements from his graduating class.
He attended the University of Miami Medical School for residency in Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery. He served as a Chief Resident and was awarded
with the honorable Professor’s Cup upon graduation. Dr. Bloom’s
training placed a heavy emphasis on trauma surgery, oral pathology, and
maxillofacial reconstruction. With the guidance of Dr. Yoh Sawatari, the
University of Miami Oral Surgery Residency Director, and additional externship
training at the Naval Base in Portsmouth Virginia, Dr. Bloom gained extensive
and surgical exposure in orthognathic surgery.
Following graduation, Dr. Bloom moved to Oklahoma to work in a private
practice which emphasized dentoalveolar surgery, placement of dental implants,
and included reconstruction of bony defects of the jaw using innovative
bone grafting techniques. He served as the president of his local dental
society and volunteered his surgical services at a local church.
Dr. Bloom currently resides in Winchester, Virginia and loves to take road
trips with his dog, Artemis. He enjoys spending free time playing tennis,
running, hiking and mountain biking. He also spends his leisure time performing
concrete construction and enjoys embarking on numerous home renovation projects.
