The Center for Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Winchester Medical Center is a medically directed outpatient service offering comprehensive care for patients with chronic and/or complicated wounds. The Center provides wound assessment, education and prevention, treatment plans, support and referrals.
Common wounds treated include:
• Venous leg ulcers
• Pressure ulcers
• Diabetic/neuropathic ulcers
• Traumatic wounds
• Surgical wounds
• Complex, chronic wounds that require intensive medical and/or surgical intervention
Treatment therapies may include but are not limited to:
• Wound debridement
• Compression therapy
• Wound V.A.C
• Skin grafts
• Total contact casting

To promote optimal healing and independence with wound care, our patients are encouraged to take an active role in the healing of their wound. A wound care nurse specialist will coordinate a treatment plan from the initial consultation to subsequent discharge back to the referring provider.
The medical director for wound care is Dr. Richard Siira, a board-certified emergency medicine physician.
Patient Referral and Consultation Procedures
Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy are offered as non-acute, outpatient services only. To refer patients for an evaluation please call the Center. A consultation appointment will be made for the patient once all appropriate case documentation has been received.
