The northern Shenandoah
Valley is dotted with small towns and rural communities, colonial
estates and civil war battle sites, rolling horse farms and spreading
apple orchards. With four seasons of recreational opportunities,
cultural events and historic landarks, we have the best of the old
and the new. The opportunities range from professional theater to
outdoor music festivals to children's museums to hiking, skiing
and simply enjoying the great outdoors.
Just east of Front Royal is Shenandoah National Park. To the west
is Massanutten Mountain and George Washington National Forest. The
Shenandoah River runs through Front Royal and is famous for canoeing.
Washington D.C., with all of its amenities, lies only 70 miles to
the east.
