The northern Shenandoah Valley is dotted with small towns and rural communities, colonial estates and civil war battle sites, rolling horse farms and spreading apple orchards. With four seasons of recreational opportunities, cultural events and historic landarks, we have the best of the old and the new. The opportunities range from professional theater to outdoor music festivals to children's museums to hiking, skiing and simply enjoying the great outdoors.

Just east of Front Royal is Shenandoah National Park. To the west is Massanutten Mountain and George Washington National Forest.The Shenandoah River runs through Front Royal and is famous for canoeing. Washington D.C., with all of its amenities, lies only 70 miles to the east.
