The Nurse Aide Training Program at Warren Memorial Hospital offers several training classes throughout the year. The 120-hour course includes 70 hours of classroom training and 50 hours of clinical experience in local short- and long-term care facilities in accordance with the Virginia Board of Nursing requirements. After successful completion of the program, participants are eligible to take the Virginia State Certification Exam. We have updated the schedule for the remainer of 2013, but please be aware that it may change at any time. You may call us to verify the most current class dates/time.

We offer a "Boot Camp" in July specifically designed for currently enrolled high school and college students. Click here to see the updated NATP class schedule for dates and times of orienation and classes, as well as classes for the remainder of 2013. A pre-test for the Boot Camp will be held May 23, 2013. There is no charge for this test, but you must bring a photo ID. You may come in on that date anytime from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The test should take you approximately 20 minutes to complete and covers very basic reading and math comprehension. We will not administer the test prior to 4:00, and your arrival time will have no bearing on placement into the class.

If you pass the test and are eligible to apply, you then will be offered an application to review which explains the enrollment process, instructions and requirements. The total cost of the course is $750.00, or $550.00 if you are in high school or are a Valley Health employee. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 will be accepted ONLY when you are offered a spot in the class. Space is limited.

Our next regular A.M. class will begin August 12. The pre-test for this class will be held on June 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We strongly advise you visit the Virginia Board of Nursing website (www.dhp.virginia.gov/nursing) to view more information and requirements for becoming a Certified Nurse Aide. Because a state and national criminal background check and drug screen are required before taking the program, please review information very carefully.

Please check back for further information as we upgrade this information regularly. You may also call 540-636-0531 with any questions.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope to hear from you soon!
