Learn About Our Specialized Therapy Programs
We offer specific programs such as:
Pediatric therapy – We offer physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy
services for children with conditions and injuries including cerebral
palsy, sensory processing dysfunction, and autism. Our therapists are
here to help your child and to provide him / her with the tools necessary
to live a full and healthy life.
Aquatic physical therapy – Winchester Medical Center is among Valley Health locations to
provide water-based physical therapy. Patients do not need to know how
to swim; water is simply used as a basis of support in order to conduct
exercises that benefit patients with injuries and / or disabilities including
spinal pain, osteoarthritis, neurological disorders, and fibromyalgia.
Aquatic therapy sessions usually last between 45 minutes and an hour.
Patients receive individual attention from instructor therapists, and
most insurance companies as well as Medicare does cover the therapy costs
or reimburses patients for those costs.
Hand therapy – Hand injuries such as severe burns, nerve damage, arthritis, and
bone fractures can cause major damage. Our occupational therapists offer
hand therapy services. We can help you identify textures and begin the
process of repairing tissue and muscle damage. Our hand therapy program
qualifies for Medicare coverage.
DriveAbility – Part of returning to your normal life after an injury may involve
re-learning to drive. Work with an occupational therapist and driving
instructor in our DriveAbility program.
Vestibular rehabilitation – This unique therapy program focuses on posture and balance by targeting
inner ear issues. Patients with chronic dizziness, vertigo, and balance
problems can benefit from vestibular rehabilitation. The risk of foregoing
this rehab is increased falls, loss of ability to manage day-to-day living,
