A Camp for Kids with any level of Asthma!
Camp SuperKids® is a camp for children with asthma who may not attend
other summer camps due to a lack of medical supervision. At Camp SuperKids®,
children have fun, receive support from each other and learn how to manage
their asthma at the same time.

Fun, Fun and More Fun!
Camp SuperKids® features traditional camp activities such as water
activities, hiking, fishing, arts and crafts, and games. But while Camp
SuperKids® is fun, there’s an educational side too. Children
participate in activities designed to help them better understand asthma,
how an asthma episode can be triggered, how to handle an asthma episode
and how their medication works. Campers gain support from one another
on how to manage their asthma.
Camp staff includes volunteers such as physicians, nurses, respiratory
therapists, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. We ensure
that the instructions of each camper’s physician are followed. Parents
can feel at ease knowing that their child is receiving quality care. All
camp volunteers complete a thorough screening process.
Camp SuperKids® is Monday–Wednesday, June 12-14, 2017 at Hunting
Ridge Retreat Center, located approximately 5 miles northwest of Winchester,
Virginia. Hunting Ridge Retreat Center’s features include: air conditioned
cabins, main lodge with full-service kitchen, basketball and volleyball
courts, lakes stocked with fish, and miles of beautiful hiking trails.
Campers ages 8-12 (at the time of camp) participate in Overnight Camp,
while campers ages 6-8 participate in Day Camp which runs from 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m. each day. (Parents of 8-year-olds decide whether their child
is ready for overnight camp.)
Overnight Camp: $60 • Day Camp: $30
Scholarships are available. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Why you should send your child to Camp SuperKids®:
As an asthma specialist, I know how important it is for children not to
feel excluded from activities just because of their asthma. They are also
concerned about how friends, classmates, teachers, and other people in
their lives will react to their condition. Camp SuperKids® provides
children with asthma facts, educates about triggers and the early warning
signs of an asthma episode, explains ways to prevent asthma symptoms from
getting out of control, and gives practical tips about living a “normal”
life. By enrolling in camp, you are helping your child to achieve his
or her full potential despite having asthma.
