WMC Named a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News & World Report

Winchester Medical Center (WMC) is among the nation's Best Regional Hospitals 2011-12, according to U.S. News & World Report, publisher of Best Hospitals. U.S. News publishes the Best Hospitals rankings in July of each year. At the midpoint of the 2011-12 year, its editors have now recognized 247 hospitals outside major metropolitan areas, including WMC, as Best Regional Hospitals. The list of those hospitals is available online at www.usnews.com/bestregionalhospitals.

In order to be recognized as a Best Regional Hospital, an organization must be rated as "high performing" in at least one of 16 specialties evaluated. WMC was recognized as high performing in the following 5 specialties: Diabetes & Endocrinology, Ear, Nose & Throat, Geriatrics, Pulmonology, and Urology.
