Check out video from the April 23 dedication of War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs. Speakers include Valley Health President & CEO Mark Merrill, along with Chairman of the War Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Bill Locke, who has a great message for the citizens of Berkeley Springs and surrounding areas: We'll do everything we can to take the best care of you possible - but your health is your responsibility, too.
Licensed by the State of West Virginia as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH), War Memorial features 25 inpatient beds (21 private rooms), 16 long-term care beds, and a six-bed emergency department. War Memorial offers acute and skilled care, 24-hour emergency services, and a variety of ancillary and outpatient services that you might not expect from a small, rural facility.
The new $30 million, 87,000 square-foot facility includes upgraded technologies throughout the building, a helipad, and plenty of parking. This modern healthcare facility will better serve the needs of the community with enhanced space for outpatient services, physician office space, a state-of-the-art education suite, large dining area and courtyard. In addition to the spaciousness, soothing color schemes, and extensive natural light, patients and visitors will notice several privacy enhancements and improved security features throughout the building, making a more pleasant, comfortable, accessible, and safe environment in which to receive care.
