How to Have a Healthy Pregnancy

  • See your doctor immediately if you believe you're pregnant.

  • Take prenatal vitamins that contain folic acid.

  • Don't smoke, drink alcohol or take illegal drugs.

  • Don't take any medications without your doctor's approval.

  • Eat a healthful diet that contains plenty of calcium.

  • Walk or do another gentle exercise at least three times a week.

  • Limit your caffeine intake.

  • Take a childbirth class.
