Aquatic Physical Therapy
Our Valley Health locations in Berkeley Springs, Romney, and Winchester
offer aquatic physical therapy. This sort of therapy does not require
a previous knowledge of how to swim, but uses water in such a way as to
provide support while enhancing exercises for individuals with disabilities
or injuries. These customizable sessions usually consist of 45 minutes
to an hour of one-on-one attention and can treat patients dealing with
fibromyalgia, back pain, osteoarthritis, neurological disorders, and more.
Medicare and Most insurance companies will cover or reimburse the cost
of this service.
Pediatric therapy services from Valley Health provide physical, occupational,
and speech therapy services to treat children with autism, cerebral palsy,
sensory processing dysfunction, and much more. Our skilled therapists
can help your child work to reach his or her full potential, and give
each child and family the tools to improve their daily living skills.
After a severe injury or illness, many patients find themselves unable
to drive. At Valley Health, we strive to help our patients return to normalcy.
DriveAbility is our adaptive program that can help patients drive again.
A registered occupational therapist and certified driving instructor work
with the patient to help restore normal driving functions.
Patients suffering from fractures, arthritis, burns, nerve injuries and
more can benefit from hand therapy available at Valley Health locations.
Our occupational therapists can provide a customized rehabilitation program
that helps patients regain independence, regain the ability to recognize
texture, further the healing of damaged tissue or muscle, and more. Hand
therapy is covered under Medicare.
This rehabilitation service is for individuals who are suffering from dizziness,
imbalance, vertigo and more. Vestibular rehabilitation works to repair
the inner ear, which controls posture and balance. If left untreated,
these patients could be at a greater risk for falls, increased dependence,
and inability to perform daily activities. Vestibular rehabilitation is
covered by Medicare.
