Valley Health Interventional Spine
Advanced approach to treating painful neck and back conditions
About the Program
Dr. Daniel Kline is an interventional spine care specialist who uses an evidence-based
approach to diagnose and treat painful neck and back conditions. In addition
to neck and back pain he also treats sciatica or radicular pain. Radicular
pain can occur in the legs as well as the arms.
Physical exam and diagnostic imaging findings alone, studies show, are
often not sufficient to determine the source of a patient’s neck
or back pain. Image-guided diagnostic procedures may be used to provide
additional information. These advanced diagnostics allow Dr. Kline to
better target and treat your pain.

Common Conditions and Treatments
Sciatica/Sciatic Nerve Pain:
Sciatica is often experienced as pain down the leg, buttock or arm, which
is sometimes caused by spinal stenosis or a herniated disc. A diagnostic
and treatment approach using targeted specific epidural injections can
provide significant pain relief.
Painful discs in the neck and back:
Pain originating from a disc is a common cause of chronic neck and low
back pain. A painful disc in the neck or back may benefit from epidural
steroid injections or other treatments.
Painful facet joints in the neck and back:
Painful facet joint arthrosis is also a common cause of chronic neck and
low back pain and cannot be reliably diagnosed by standard imaging studies.
Diagnostic injections followed by radiofrequency ablation also known as
neurotomy can provide relief for this condition.
Sacroiliac Joint (SI joint) Pain:
Diagnostic and therapeutic joint injections may be used in the management
of this painful condition.
Hip Joint Pain:
Diagnostic injections are helpful in determining if the hip joint is the
source of leg, groin or back pain and if so, therapeutic injections can
be utilized to provide relief.
Commonly performed image-guided procedures for cervical, thoracic, and
- Transforaminal epidural steroid injections
- Diagnostic and therapeutic selective nerve root blocks
- Medial branch blocks
- Medial branch neurotomy (radiofrequency ablation)
- Diagnostic and therapeutic intra-articular sacroiliac joint and hip joint
Our program also offers additional procedures including spinal cord stimulator
trials and electrodiagnostic evaluation of the upper and lower limbs.
